The Rural Energy for America Program (REAP) provides guaranteed loan financing and grant funding to agricultural producers and rural small businesses for renewable energy systems or energy efficiency improvements. Projects must be located in rural areas, defined as populations of 50,000 residents or less. Eligible renewable thermal technologies include biomass, geothermal, solar thermal, geothermal, biogas, and green hydrogen. Available funding includes loan guarantees up to 75% of total costs, grants for up to 50% of total costs, or combined loan and grants of up to 75% total costs.
