Commercial and Industrial Carbon Challenge

NYSERDA created the Commercial & Industrial Carbon Challenge to give large, non-residential energy users resources to unlock cost-effective decarbonization opportunities. Winners work one-on-one with NYSERDA to realize their proposed projects rather than navigating on their own through NYSERDA or utility initiatives. Rewards under this challenge range from $500,000 to $5 million per successful proposal. A total of $15 million is available and is segmented based on the type of project pursued. Relevant technologies like beneficial electrification and solar thermal are included. Eligible applicants must be businesses with a 12-month average electricity demand of 3 MW or more at one site or across multiple sites in New York State.
